Retention periods at a glance

How long each kind of data is kept:

• Your account, cards, decks, notes, folders and uploaded files: as long as your account exists, or until you delete them yourself
• Review history, streaks, medals and learning statistics: as long as your account exists
• Your conversations with the AI tutor and what AI features create for you, such as cards and notes: stored like the rest of your content
• Sign-in sessions and devices: until you sign that device out or the session expires
• Server request logs used for fair-use limits: kept only as long as needed to apply fair-use limits and stop misuse, then deleted
• Database backups: kept for a limited time, then overwritten

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself in the app. This removes both your database entries and the files you stored with us — cards, notes, uploads, annotations, statistics and sessions. It cannot be undone. Backups are kept for a limited time and then overwritten; deleted data disappears from them when they are overwritten.

Deleting single items

You can delete individual cards, decks, notes, folders and files at any time. Backups are kept for a limited time and then overwritten; deleted items disappear from them when they are overwritten.

Server logs

When you use a feature that has a fair-use limit, such as the AI features, we log your user ID, the feature and the time, so that we can count your use and stop misuse. These entries are kept only as long as needed to apply fair-use limits and stop misuse, then deleted. Error logs are kept only as long as we need them to find a fault.

Backups

We back up the database automatically so that we can restore the service after a fault. Backups are kept for a limited time and then overwritten; deleted data disappears from them when they are overwritten. We use backups only to restore data.

In your browser

The website keeps your sign-in, your theme, your language and your cookie choice in your browser's storage. You can remove them at any time by clearing your browser data. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner.

Asking for earlier deletion

If you want something deleted sooner, or want to know what we still hold about you, write to narcilium@gmail.com. We answer within the time limits set by the GDPR.

If these periods change, we update this page and the date at the top.
